600 mile week 3/20- 3/25/09

Completed my last week of riding here in Maine. Rode Millinocket area 3/20 ( found Moose resting buy the warming hut) 3/21 Sherman north to Ashland and 3/25 Eagle Lake north to Canada. See if you recognize my trail guide. Weather was great for almost end of March and trails were about the best all year! Came home and washed and waxed the old 1 ton and tucked her away for the summer. I finished around 2700 miles for the season.

Yup i was up in new canada last week,rode all those trails and just got home last night from greenville,now the fat lady has song her lungs out in the moosehead area,as far as trail riding,there is still plenty of off trail riding to be done,but its not like last year,but still very good,your milage is about what i ended up with this year,but i had to add both my xp doos milage with my new to me 07 apexgt leftover for a combined 2700 miles 1910 on the apex in the last 4 weeks,great riding,hey where did you find bob (aka hondo) lol,later Pete

Thanks for making the road trip to Eagle Lake.

Temps the past couple of days have been in the high 40's. Snow is melting fast.

I agree Pete the fat lady is singing...

Although there are a few more days of riding left, I'm going to put the sleds up for the summer. I just don't like riding through all the mud at road crossings.

Reflecting back, The Almanac was spot on. The winter here was "numblingly cold and snowy"!

Now bob what are you already doing at you puta when you are generally out still riding,i stayed with a great bunch up your neck of the woods the week of the 3-20-3-24 the twin lakes snow club had there chicken baraque and snowcross track they had set up,i saw your friend bob from ft.kent yamaha,as i was up there earlier buying my exhaust cap that fell off. Man those trails were soo sweet that week,hard and fast,just what i ordered,man if you dont speak french up there you may be lost lol,i stayed in a house on pellitier dr. just off rt.161 and our little trail would take us out on the powerline thru the new canadas towne office,acrossed rt 161 onto a small pond and either turn right to st agat or up the road back acrossed 161 to the twin lakes club house,well i now have just over 1900 miles on my new 07 apex gt i have had it for about a month now and am so glad i got off my xp8 doo,as i only have used my one stock belt that came on my apex,but in that kind of milage on the doo i would be on my 4th belt lol,just got to love this yamaha clutching. Well another fine year done. Hopefully we can hook up next year bob,have a great summer. Pete

I was there at Twin Rivers watching the race. I left to go riding right after the race. Concur the trails were absolutely superb!
