600 miles in 24 hour (1000km)

Hi

I prefer to actually GO somewhere to put the miles on. It would be too easy to do it in a controlled environment. I'd like to ride from here (MIlan, NH) to Moosehead area...maybe Greenville...in a day, if I can find someone to do it with. I haven't lived up here long, so I don't know anyone who rides yet. I haven't ridden in Canada at all yet, but I hope to this year. I've only been to Maine twice, to Rangely both times, and I'm not impressed with the conditions. It could be that I caught it at bad times, but the trails were rough and there was no sign of grooming either time. If things get better further into Maine I would love to head up further.

The 339 miles wasn't anywhere close to a very high mile day, but if you saw the trails we had to ride between Keene and Warren, you'd know why I'm proud of it. In fact, things didn't get really good until we were near Lisbon.

I think it's possible, but you'll push yourself to your limit physically.

When I was too young to drive on a hunt, I was being towed by my dad. We were 312 miles from town. My dad drove all the way, and 13 hours later, we were home.

Best I did was about 240 miles in about 10 hours.

Average speed that we usually run is about 25 miles per hour. Any faster we run into broken parts, any slower - we don't make it home that day.

Good luck.
