Has anyone done this mod yet. I am going to do it. Talked with my dealer today which has done several of these kits. They run 71-73 MPH top end with huge mid range gains. My stocker runs hard for a stocker but 67 is where it tops out at on a flat road. Ive tried alot of different mods, but nothing can compare to what this kit offers with regards to performance.

You get:
686 Big Bore Piston (high compression)
Cylinder boring
Raptor Cam
Rapror Springs

Looks like it will be around $1000 installed. Giddy up...BBY

Hi there I've got an 05 grizzly with a few mods K&N filter and jet kit, White Bros. pipe, Hotcam, EPI clutch kit and 26" mudlites. The best run I've have got so far on radar is 57mph The speedo is reading 60 mph this is on a gravel road. I'm also thinking about a big bore kit. I wish that a magazine would publish an article about them. I think that your hoping for too much if you think your going to run in the 70 mph range. Your clutches are more than likely already running at a 1 to 1 ratio so more speed is not likely unless you go to a larger tires. I wish that they had an overdrive sheave for the grizz but I haven't found one. Good luck with your bigbore kit keep us up to date I'd like to hear about it, I hope I'm wrong about the topend.

Both my clutches are machined so Im getting better top end than all in my riding group (6 other 660 Grizzlys). I already see 68 speedo with stock motor and some other minor mods. Radar gun speeds are 65. I also think 70 real speed is a stretch but Ill bet it will be close. The limiting factor isnt necessarily HP but also gear ratio. There isnt any gearing available to change ratios, if there was top end would be easier to adjust, but would effect the low end in a negative way. Machining your clutches is a easy way to gain more top end gear...BBY

low end

just wodering why would you want to go that fast on your grizz, do you guys race or something? not trying to start anything but i'm sitting here wondering... where in the hell could you do that type of ryding with those types of speeds without hitting something. If it were a sport quad on a track or a wide open trail then i would see the point but for the grizz i think that the top speed is just fine and thats with the 26'' mud lites on it but I would like see some more low end rock breaking mud slinging hill climbing mad torq. the type of ryding that most people do with there grizzlys on the east coast (hard core trails, mountains, rocks and lots of mud) anyway would never allow for that type of top end, you would end up wrap around a tree a some point. anyway like I said not trying to start anything and I hope I did not piss anyone off .....just my 2 cents.

Legit question. First thing is we are all also snowmobilers and atving is our summer version of that. Our whole group is very competetive. If one is faster than the next, then you have bragging rights. Also, im in the business and its fun experimenting with different products and setups to see what you can get out of them. The stock setup works well im all conditions, however there are some gains to be had If one is looking to do so...BBY
