I'm interested in purchasing a R&R 7.5' x 16' plus v-nose trailer, and was wondering on the sled loading procedure. Would I be able to load both sleds, going forward from the rear, and then proceed out the front ramp, w/o having to manually manipulate them? I don't want to have to reverse one or load one from the front and the other from the rear, I just want to be able to load an Apex XTX and another shorter sled from one direction and drive off the other, and just looking for confirmation on this.
Thanks

I have a Ledgend 18'x7.5' with 5' V. You may have to drive in the front and out the back so the rear of the front sled sit's in the nose. A friend has one shorter than mine and he has to come in the front and off set them, He wishes he bought a couple feet longer.

I do realize that I have to off-set them, but I was hoping that I would be able to just load and go from the rear out the front, and not worry about juggling them around afterwards. I was thinking w/ the 7.5' x 16' box that would work. Can I assume w/ your 18' it does for two(2) sleds w/o any issues? Is your buddies a 16' or a 14'. I could see 14' being an issue.

I do not have to move them at all with my Attak and a 121. Now that i think about it he may have a 14'! If you want to run them in and out with out messing with them you will need an 18'. A 16' may do what you want but i would not guarantee it. The only thing i know for sure is it is nice after a day of riding to just run them in and close the door and if i run them in the front and off set them i can get three in easily. How much price diff is there from 16 to 18?

Yeah I agree about just driving them in after a "long" day, especially at night when you just want to go! And I don't want to have to maneuver the sleds around. I don't know the diff. by going to an 18' yet, as I have a couple of big jobs to do around the house, and when I get closer to the day of purchasing, I guess I'll have to consider that. I guess I can mask it off in the garage and see how the current sleds set within a 16' area and go from there.

Trailer

I have one of those trailers, it's a 7.5 X16. I run mine in from the front and can't really think of a good reason to run them in from the rear. Going in from the front the wall gives you a little help turning, you don't need anything on the floor to help you turn. Then when you start them up cold you just drive straight off. We haul three on a regular basis going in from the front. I don't want a longer trailer than I need because they take up storage space inside. Hope this helps.

Geezer

I usually drive in and back them out. Only use the front door when hauling three. Masking on the floor is a good idea then you will know what you will be dealing with.

Well after laying out some 2 x4's, I see that I think I would benefit w/ the 18'er over the 16'. I would like a little more room to "play" with, and not feel that the sleds are on top of each other. Plus having the ability to add a 3rd w/o issue is always a bonus. Where I live, storing the trailer is not an issue.
Thanks

I had a 3 place r&r and wished i got the 6 inch higher roof nice opp. i would think about it anyways

Yeah, definately doing xtended height when I place the order. Told me he could do it 8" if I wanted it instead of 6". He did mention that I could go 12" on up, but I don't think that will be necessary. May start to really look obnoxious at those heights.

8" would bee even better ... But 6" works very well ... when i put 3 in my trailer i drove on from back works good anyway you put them on ... Trailer pulls the same

So will 2 shorties fit in this trailer? Looking to buy one this year and only would haul one or two sleds at most. It will be a multi purpose trailer so that's why I don't want it any longer then needed. Haul bikes and lawnmower in the summer time. Thanks for the info!

Yes two will fit in that trailer. I actually mapped off the dimensions in my garage and set the sleds into that area. Depending on the actual length of your sleds, not going strictly off of the track, you may have to drive them in from the front, and have the rear set in the V-nose of the trailer.
Hope this helps.

Yup that is what I was looking for. How much room was left when you mocked it up? Lets say I have my Nytro 121 in there, would a 136/144 fit with some finagling?

If your talking 16' trailer + 5' v, than you can fit 3 121 sleds in. Believe you can fit 2 long tracks(136) plus one shorty but then the long tracks have to be back to back. 2 144's would fit nice.

Here's a pic of mine. (7'x21')

No inside pics but I currently have a 144, 121 sled and 2 snowblowers inside. Hope this helps ;)!
