Are there any benefits to switching to an 8DN with all stock clutching on a 15' ltx?

Thanks, Coop.

When I switched from the 8jp to the 8dn I noticed that the 8dn was more consistsnt with rpm numbers

Don't you need to make some adjustment when switching to 8DN. I did not think you could just throw it on and go.

you need to add shims to the back of the secondary to compensate for the longer belt

It gave me more consistant rpm readings which allowed me to clutch the sled a lot better... From what I experienced with the 8jp belt I was getting different rpm readings each pass back to back, threw the 8dn on and that was gone... To answer your question I would personally, not sure if your going to see a gain or anything but it may make it more consistant and allow you to clutch properly... There has been others on here that run he 8jp belt with no issues at all and love there machines, and others have had the exact problem that I did

Why not try a ultimax xs825 belt ... Very little belt dust and grips very well and same length as 8jp ......just put on and go ......

Or the gates g force even cheaper than the xs, I have been running the gates for 2 seasons with good results and the gates 8jp version. Yamaha's belts are long lasting but to hard and are not as grippy as a good aftermarket belt.

There both good belts I have ran them both. Depending on where you purchase the gates may be cheaper.

Both are good belts , consistent rpms , lest belt dust and cheaper than a Yamaha belt .....yamaha belts are to hard ....

I've run XS belts on everything I have owned , so I would go with one of those

I've ran 8dns on everything I owned, never have blown a belt, no issues and always pull hard... Buddy ran a xs on his doo, and we were stopped on a rail bed pulling belt strands out for 45 min.... They may be hard and a little pricier but they last, and a lot more consistsant than the 8jp belt... To each there own, just stating what I've found from having a heavily modded srx, 2 stroke viper, and maintaining buddies nytro... Always have ran the Yamaha belts
