Trying to decide. They are pretty much the same track, predator is open and clipped every window, ripsaw- closed every third. Both 121X15X1.25. Pricing is similiar, ribsaw a few pounds lighter.

Right now, leaning toward ripsaw.

Anybody know a dealer/Retailer in Canada with good pricing? Best I can find is $750 Cdn funds. Anybody wanna sell me either one? (in canada)

I've got a cooked 9833 if you want it.... probably not.

I really don't know what to suggest to you for choice... I've got a ripsaw on now, but its 144". After 500 miles, some of the thin parts at the tips of the lugs on the 9833 had already started coming apart. I've got about 500 miles on the ripsaw now, and its exactly like new, MIND YOU, its not spinning like the 9833 did (due to its being too short).

My overall speed is UP now from the 9833, but I don't know if its from the approach angle, or from it being a faster track design... Also up 400 rpm on the tach.

Track cost me $700 cdn, but my dealer talked his supplier into a wicked deal (I think I paid supplier cost) on account of the short amount of time the 9833 lasted (which was purchased from the same supplier)... I paid the same for the 9833. Tracksusa price difference between 9833 and 9923 is $94 US (~$125 cdn).

BTW: I would *HIGHLY* recommend an extension if you're going to the bother of changing the track. VERY WORTH IT.

The Ripsaw has a more aggresive lug design where the 9833 I believe is a solid paddle track. I have the 136 Ripsaw on mine and I absolutely love it, by far the best money ever spent on a sled with the extension and track. I believe Matt at the Speed Shop sells the Ripsaw for a very good price, check him out.

I really want to extend the track, but $$$ issues is saying not now, and its time for our annual big trip again. (another month)

Hey wait, I know, I haven't looked at the option 1 from MPI. I'll check out that price. I would get a deal on the track too with the kit.

I'll let you know what I decide to do.

Hey LB, how would I put back the metal retainer on the drivers?, one apparently popped out and had no luck putting it back in. (very lazy try with a piece of wood).

Damned if I know about the metal retainers. I think you may need to remove the driver so as to squeeze down the plastic.

Stage 1 kit will give you the equivalent of a Warrior, which should give you good hookup on hardpack, deep will suffer somewhat with respect to what you *could* have, and you'll get a bit more push in the corners.

Stage 2 kit will give you good hookup, better deep snow manners, and less push in the corners.

Price difference between stage1 and stage2 is $110.

Check out hartmaninc.com - their tunnel extensions look a *LOT* nicer than MP, and prices are the same, OR, tracksusa.com, which has DIRT CHEAP rail extensions.

Hartman offers the track + tunnel + extension + relocation kit for $855(136)/$860(144).

If you haven't BLOWN your track, and the cost is stopping you from getting what you REALLY want, then I'm sure you'd be much happier waiting for a bit.

Thanks for your suggestions there. I am looking for something cheap and quick, just to get out for that one trip. I think that's my priority right now. I can make "real" changes next fall. However, it would be nice to extend the track, just so I won't get stuck so often as I did last year. (my buddy hates my guts now.)

When I look at the pricing (with kit) of the tracks from MPI, a track is only $40 bucks cheaper. (with shipping). So it is not worth the wait time from the US.

I checked out the pricing for the Hartman Kit, stock approach angle. Costs about $1200.00 with tax and shipping.

I think I have found a kit for me that'll last the rest of the year.
