Is anyone running the Predator or Carve 1 1/4 track. I am looking to swap the new factory rip saw out for a fully clipped track. I have 3 issues with the factory track, one is not fully clipped, the second is every third window is closed, and the third is why have 1" tunnel protectors when you lose 1/2 inch to the little fingers on the ripsaw track. The track lugs on the ripsaw are to soft, and you lose at least 1/2 inch of protection. I am running 1.500 studs with the factory track and it appears to have plenty of room. I am nicking the bulk head heat exchanger slightly due to ratcheting expierenced on the first ride and the soft track lugs. The predator is a solid lug and harder compound than the ripsaw. This is on a 2009 Apex RTX. I was also supprised at the hi fax wear for 100 miles. I am reading up on this web site, as it seems that others are fighting hi fax wear with Polaris wheels, Skidoo wheels, wheel kits etc.

As always I appreciate any feed back from fellow riders. I am new to the Yamaha seen.

i have the predator 1 1/4" on my 06 and 07 rtx's they are great. also had the 1" predator on my 2000 sxr 98 srx and 03 rx1 and loved the 1" as well. very tough hard compound tracks that take a major beating with very little wear.

good observation...ive said this for years...the serated soft rubber that contacts the tunnel protection compresses easier because its serated and soft....depending on what youre after I like the 1" best..with big studs

The 1" predator has better traction in ALL conditions than a 1.25 ripoff.
SJ, what are you running, 1.375 with a 1" Predator track? What brand of studs do you run? I am running a Predator track on my Millennium Mach Z with a rolled Crank Shop chain case and 1.325 Top Gun 2's. The RTX I have 1.500 Top Gun 2's and I have ordered the Predator 1 1/4. I am hoping that with the stiffer lug that I will be ok on the heat exchanger and rear tunnel back by the muffler.
