LOL I assure all those concerned that there is nothing wrong here. May be the angle or the fact 1 ski is down hill and othere is up a little, but all is ok..:) 9k miles and counting and it just came out of the shop after 36hours of personal maint. Getting it ready for another 2k miles of riding.

I'll drink to that!

Im not sure if your interested, but im in the process of making some out of aluminum diamond plate. When im done ill PM you the patterns.

I still have to make the piece that protects the sway bar knuckle, and cut the slot out the back for the protector,

Ive already formed 2 different type of knuckle protectors and didn`t like the fit, this weekend im hoping to form up a few more, and weld them on.

but when i figure it out ill be happy to share.

You could use almost any material you want, i just wanted aluminum. When this is done im planing to re-do the tunnel close off plate in the same material.

looks like nice fab work man

The big tuning fork just reminded me of the VW emblem on the front of the old hippy buses for some reason?? :drink:

I second that, nice work man.

I just ordered a set of the plastic protectors but thank you for the offer, I appreciate it.

I notice in your signature it says you already have the back hole closed off. If you want to get rid of the one you got when you make your new one let me know.

thanks

The first version of the bumper was half the size, but i wanted to give a little more protection and made it bigger. When i put the smaller tuning fork on the bigger plate it looked like a dirty belly button from a distance, so i cut a bigger tuning fork. the first version also had the fork polished but it blended in too much so now its flat black.

My close off plate is a piece of aluminum that i cut at work, you can have it, but they sell thin aluminum at Home Depot for probibly less than the shipping from NY to Maine. Either way you are welcome to it. Ill PM you when i get it off the sled.

yeah good call, I'll wait to see if I can rig something up.
thanks again

phase5,

Nice, i almost went that way, I like that look, one reason i didnt is a guy in my area has a similiar pattern on his front bumper.

We probibly would have saved money buying the plastics, but thats the easy way out

thanks guys,

thanks mike, she is pretty cool for a van, awd 5.3 its a 4 seater and the back is all tools with the outside access panels that you barely notice,i can get my hand tools out without getting in the van.

hell yeah porky i get dressed inside my van while my buddies get wet socks in the trailer amongst other activities.

total, i actually had a big plate of diamond plate bolted to the original bumper at first then my kid bought me the nice one so i 86 it,

buy the plastic ones hahahaha i make everything i get , i mean everything ,,but i am good enough to pull it off so i guess its good but i would love to buy sometimes lol
