Knowing my hand warmers are inadiquate .. i went out and bought several packages of those 7+ Hour MYCOAL HAND WARMERS...

Just throw one in each glove at the palm and your hands will stay warm while the grips heat up!! Been using them the past 4 days with great results...

and they are cheap... I paid $2 for a pack of 3 pair!! ;)!

What alot of guys are finding out just like I did with my Rage is that after riding the sled at a steady higher rpm 5000 or so the grips may warm up very well and actualy get too hot!

LOL yea I stated that these are a great addition to anyones first aid kit in another thread about the hand warmers and all they said was. I am not buying one dollar hand warmers after spending 10 grand on a sled. I guess the alternative is to have cold hands and be grumpy. Truth is you never know when these are going to come in handy if not for you maybe for someone you happen to come along too and he has been stranded for a number of hours. You just never know.

Those things are awesome i use the ones for the feet too when it's really cold and ALWAYS carry a couple of sets in my windshield bag last year i gave out three sets on two different occasions when i ran into stranded sledders. (They were'nt riding Yammi's) Great addition to the safety kit ;)!

that sounds like a great thing to carry ...my feet did get cold last year a couple times gonna have to get some!

I got a few pack in my front storage compartment. Work great & cheap insurance to make sure my kids feet/hands stay warm.
i also have, compass, small roll duct tape, fox float pump, elec. tape, few rags, few zip ties, small jack knife, lighter, some band aids, smal needle nose pliers, insurance & registration papers with emergency contact phone numbers, the hand feet warmers, and thin tow rope. I just used an old tough back pack for the storage, fits in easily & can also be used as a regular back pack if needed.

Nice setup BA APEX.

Is there a concern that the bag could get hot/burnt from whatever that electrical thing is in the bottom of that compartment? It has cooling fins on it, so I was worried it might get hot.

never felt it after running the sled for a while. I'll try it later today if I get out.
I can't believe it does get too hot, there is a factory bag that Yamaha sell that goes in that space.

handwarmers

Has anyone here ever tried wiring there hand warmers directly to battery power. I once read about a guy who did this to his wifes sled because she didn't ride fast enough to get the grips warm. The charging system should be able to deal with this miniscule load easily. The feed should be switched to prevent killing the battery.
