First, thanks to all for the information and help here. This site has been an incredible resource. I've parted ways with my 2009 Nytro and bought a 2013 Ski Doo 1200 TNT. Going to Revalve the shocks and put new springs in the 1200 before the snow flies. ill be putting on some new carbides on along with a Lake Effect riser too on the Doo. All sleds need some TLC to ride right IMO and the Nytro was no different - just cost a bit more. As I said here many times, once I had the Nytro dialed in, I really did love it. The Genesis motor is a thing of beauty and Ill miss it! Ill see you all on the trails and may show up to another ride this year if you'll have me. Lol.

See ya when ya come back.. Toodles for now...

Great sled, you won't have to do much to it out of the box , did it come with the r- motion quick adjust , I will let you ride with me if they won't . Lol.
I have one viper coming and a 1200 doo , have fun with it I'm sure you are going to love it ;)!

No - no quick adjust. But it does have the r motion with the rebuildable shocks. It'll have triple rate springs up front, dual rate skid spring and all revalved shocks before the snow flies. Can't wait to ride! And thanks - my buddy still has his 2011 Nytro RTX so ill get some back to back riding time as I'm sure he will want to try out the 1200.

X2 on the riding group there lol. As long as guys like to ride and don't constantly break down that's my type of riding.plus the banter between brand is fun IMO. In my group we have three Doo 1200's, one 600 etec, one vector, two apex, one nytro, and one part time cat. Hope it works out for you. If not welcome back when you need a yamaha lol. ;):D

You never know he might get tired of being last all the time , and the school bus yellow . Just sayin...

Ouch. Last??? Lol. I'm sure ill be lining up with my friend a whole lot this year for a Nytro vs 1200 series as he keeps his Nytro in my barn as we can ride to the trails from my place. I just won't turn the heater on in my barn for a few days and let the tunnel ice slow him down. Lol.

Ha, just giving sh!t thats the brand I would go to If they quit making real yamahas . :tg:

I would switch to Doo as well. I will NEVER buy a Yamacat. I keep this journal on my rides and tally every broken or towed sled and I can tell you its hilarious to see the difference. That way I can prove to any doubters what the reality is. :moon:

I would have pulled the trigger on the 1200 too, but for me the body was dated and I was not a fan, if they updated it similiar to the XS I would have been sold for sure. I pulled the trigger on the Viper.

I really liked the XS plastics but had to have an 800 e tech with that. As much as the adreneline junkie in me wanted the 800, I've had lots if Doo products over the years and just could never really trust their two strokes to last. And that's from experience, having had the top ends rebuilt on two of my my Doos before 4,000 miles. I think the plastics look dated on the 1200 as well but I got it as a leftover and the price was right. I'd have had to pay roughly $3,000 more for the Viper and just couldn't bring myself to do it on a first year model.

Well you definitely cannot beat that deal. For the savings you could clutch it and install an aftermarket exhaust, better clutch engagement and a weight savings. That is what I would do. Good luck with the ride as I am sure you will get many dependable miles out of it.

The 2013s all come with the E Drive 2 transmission which, by reports, is supposed to be a big improvement over the original 2 stoke set up originally offered. Time will tell! I'm spending some coin on new springs, a Revalve, a lake effect riser, and 6" shapers for the center on the pilots. I'm going to drill out and put the stock 4" bars on the outside and see how it handles. As much as I'm looking forward to riding, I just want a REAL winter. The last two have been so crappy around these parts!
