So in anoher topic a few people may have read that i had some engine vibration issues which in a result i had not relized that i had the counter balance out a couple teeth and all that got solved.

So being a bit worried whether i had remembered to line up the counter balance on my own sled, so i pulled the engine and disassembled it and it was all good (so big waste of time). anyways i have it all bak together and running but the valve train is really noisey and im thinking i may have knocked one of the shims out of place on the valves and not excited to pull he engine again to check it, :o|

is there a way to pull the cams without pulling the engine because i know you cant access the tensioner with the engine in place.

any ideas or do i starrt all over again?

If you dropped a shim DO NOT RUN the sled, you could have a retainer drop out and ruin the valves.

First thing to do is pull the cam cover and check the clearance if the clearance is off then you know there is an issue. If the clearance is ok then it may be something else..

If you need to adjust them you can lossen the front motor mounts remove the rear mount and tip the engine forward to get to the tensioner.

Good luck@

Hmm ok so I'm prob just better off workin on it on the bench, what are the valve clearances?

Also when I had set the timing I had the TDC marks lined up on the crank but any way that I tried I couldn't get the marks on the cam sprockets to line up strait across but yet the dots on the cams were strait up, I haven't run into this problem yet? So kinda confused?

Have t make sure the slack is out of the chains

I think i have the same problem, however the sled runs without any backfiring. It wont idle and i cant get revs past 7300 rpm. seems like a lean mixture out???? So im thinking timing or TPS or pinched fuel line. Any thoughts?
