Affordable cover?

07 Apex, wondering if anyone has had any luck with cheaper covers/not OEM. After buying a sled, $1000 worth of gear, and a trailer, I am trying to avoid spending 200+ on an OEM cover as my pockets feel very empty.

The snowmobile will be on an unenclosed trailer, with a cover, and a large tarp over the cover.

I've looked at Empire Covers, but not sure about them. Anyone using something other than/cheaper than OEM?

i use the parts unlimited total cover it leaves lots of room for add ons and covers the skis too i like it alot as i trailer most rides and use an open trailer have had it for 4 years and still looks like new short of a little fade in the black. no scuffs or scratches on sled.

I would buy a enclosed trailer. I saw one on c list for 700. Well worth the money, hassle, and saves you money on resale. IMO

if you dont get a cover that came with the sled from the original buyer being a Jew and having one included, then good luck finding a new cover "cheap" that will work well..

I won't be buying an enclosed trailer. I would love to have one, but way too expensive for what I use it for. I will be storing the sled indoors in the off-season. I basically use a trailer to get up north if I need to.

Anyone using something other than OEM cover and like it? Any suggestions?

i got my OEM cover at port yamaha for $140 or so. try them

X2 for the parts unlimited cover, covers down to the ski's. I haul in an open trailer. Amazon lists it only fitting through '05, other sites include the later model sleds. I can verify that this fits very nice on my '06.

What's another $150-200 to get a cover that fits properly to help preserve your sled. I say call port Yamaha and get a oem cover!

I second teamyamaha, your still probably looking at a hundred bucks for any aftermarket cover, another fifty bucks to protect your investment is a no brainer IMO.

Thanks for the input everyone. After looking at the available covers I will just be going with an OEM cover. There are some on Ebay for around 120 bucks, genuine Yamaha parts.
