Can you take a pic of them? I dont recall anything in my bars since when removing grip with air I had to plug the holes. No wires in the bars on mine. Why not just drill bigger till they fall out? Use a step drill.

I started after trying , prying, screw back in then gripping with vise grip and hammering against screw ! I drilled with probably 3/8 inch but then hit some metal so stopped, I'm heading out but caps are shown in Steering section of Yamaha parts # 31 called a Nut , Maybe that's part of answer a Nut ! Lol Thanks againCan you take a pic of them? I dont recall anything in my bars since when removing grip with air I had to plug the holes. No wires in the bars on mine. Air. They are only glued up by the blocks. Is a chance you will wreak heaters though. I normally just buy new grips. Score the old with a razor blade being careful not to go through and rip them off. Thanks Bud maybe that's it didn't remember that ! Hey Cannondale , Thanks , that was it rivet in the way ! Had to drill thru , that was the metal I started drilling thru ! Then dremmel, file rivet from inside, trying to get it from outside you would be monkey arounding heated grips !Air. They are only glued up by the blocks. Is a chance you will wreak heaters though.
