Air in oilpump after rollover

Hi!

Sometimes when I roll my Nytro and fire it up again, there is air in the oilpump and it takes a few seconds before the oilpressure is back. Sometimes it has stopped by itself but normally the pressure is back fast. It seems like blipping the throttle carefully makes it come back faster.

Is it possible to damage the rod/and or main bearings if you do this lets say 30times per season?

All the bearing surfaces are covered in oil and since idle doesnt cause that much load on the parts I figure it shouldnt be a problem.

But everytime I fire it up and hear the noisy engine due to the lack of oilpressure it bothers me.

Sometimes I wonder if this could have had something to do with Dimebags blown rod bearing cause he rolls over all the time and he also did just before the engine knocking appeared.. that said, I think he pinned it right after startup so.. .

Any opinions on this?

Hmm well actually I tend to fire it up as soon as I`m ready. Maybe the trick is to wait a few mins so that the oil can flow back into the oilpan?

yes, i think it is good practice to do so.

It's best if you can let it sit for a moment to allow the oil level to equalize in the tank before starting it back up.
If I'm using the Roll-Over Valve to get unstuck (which some days its a lot:), usually by the time I get my helmet and goggles back on and take a quick breather she's good to go.
