I guess I didn't see really anyone post this. A Yamaha turbo Apex won the Alcan 200 this year. The guys name was Trevor Adams. Craig and Colby Hill took second and third. The bad part is a racer got killed by hitting a guard rail. Sounds like the conditions were very brutal.

Here are a couple links:

The average speeds were down from the blowing snow. As you can see the turbo Apex is 260HP. I am not sure if that is supposed to be Travis Adams actual top burst speed during the race (150+ MPH) or the sleds cabability. I know several years ago Robert Stryle won on a 780 BB SRX and he had an average speed of 117 mph and a top burst speed of 136 mph.

I live in Haines and have friends in the race. The man who died was an Alaskan from NorthPole, very sad day for everyone in our small town. I'm also on the local EMS crew and was out riding the day of the race but after speaking with other crew members the conditions were horrible, couldn't see anything but from marker to marker and this along with road conditins lead to the collision after the wreck that ended the mans life. All prayers should be directed to his wife and brother who were at the race. This is the last true road race in America and has never had a fatality so I hope this doesn't end the race.......very sad day for us locals.
