*** Final Update ***
Finally received my modified phazer lower airbox this morning via priority mail. One week longer than I was promised, and almost 7 weeks from the time it was shipped to Allan. The reason for the additional delay being that Allan claims he was waiting on some additional parts to restore my airbox to its "as sent" condition.

I do not wish to discredit Allan in any way. Merely describing how my transaction went.

Couple things I would like to comment on. First is Allan said he ordered me a NEW airbox from Yamaha. The airbox I recieved does not "appear" new. This is of little consequence since I did not send in a new airbox. I only mention this because this is what I was told. The second thing is that the additional delay previously mentioned was because new parts had not arrived. All of the parts inside the airbox, airfilter, screen, air intake tubes, etc; all appear to be in good "used" condition. Where am I going with this? There should not have been an additional week delay waiting on new parts that again, appear to be used.

On the positive side, Allan did not charge me for any of the work including the shipping. Which means Allan did not make a single penny for his time and effort. In fact he lost money on the shipping. I do not believe any other shop out there would have done the work for free. This is certainly a gesture of good faith on Allan's part and an attempt to make things right.

Final thought. I am somewhat relieved that this all happened over the spring/summer and not during the riding season. Missing 7 weeks of riding would NOT have been nice. Some of my neighbors think I'm an idiot for working on sleds during the summer. I remind them of this situation as to my reasons for doing maintenance during the summer.

Macheater,

I too do not wish to bash anyone on here and I don't want to make it sound like I am in the following message. I have one of Ulmers turbo kits and if I had to do it over again I would go with someone elses kit in a heart beat. Maybe it is me or my bad luck. I have spent the last year and a trip out west this year trying to get this thing to run as designed. Come to find out he basically hasn't done any clutching or tuning out west and I have his HE kit (High elevation)

When I first wanted to buy aftermarket stuff I used to call him. If I was lucky I would get a call back a week later, now I just email. He does email back 1-10 days later which I appreciate but for resolving problems I feel I have had to figure it out the hard way, on my own. Now before you start bashing me for him being a busy guy, I own a pretty seasonal business and I know what it is like to work 14 hours a day for 6-7 days a week non stop. I feel I have kept my cool throughout this entire deal trying to learn and listen. The bummer is I have spent another $1500 on top of the $5000 trying to make this kit work like it was advertised.

His clutching was 1000 rpm low.

The boost controller didn't bring up the boost at all.
It is suppose to make 6 lbs in MN and up to 10 lbs at elevation. I couldn't get it above 5 lbs out west, the sled was the biggest slouch you have ever ridden. pretty much a stock sled gave it a run for its money.

Then I could stab the throttle and it would run super lean and stay lean until I burped the throttle then it would run where it should. His answer to this was nothing and said he hadn't tested out west.

This last time out west I adjusted the waist gate to open and close properly, put on a different fuel system and bought all new clutching from someone else. This was a huge leap forward but more tuning to do
