I have a '16 Vector XTX, with only about 35 miles on it. I'm thrilled this year because I've already surpassed last winter's total mileage of 12.o_O Anyways, today was our club's annual meet & greet, held at our warming shack. The trip there and back was uneventful, though totally bitchin-anytime sleddin is better than not. As I put my sled away, I noticed a tiny bit of blue snow on the trailer under the sled, after I pulled it off. Checked under the sled in the garage and no drips. I never overheated or had any warnings whatsoever. Wondering if this implies far more investigation, or if it's simply a few drops of overfill.

Blue?? I've never seen blue. Some new fangled $hit?

It coulda gotten warm enough to expand and puke out the overflow? If so, yes the overflow tube just goes into the bellypan.

I'd take off the cover on the bellypan( the one to access the oil filter ) and just make sure the hose clamp to the front heat exchanger is tight. Otherwise, check out your water tank( the one with radiator cap) and the overflow tank and note their cold levels and just keep an eye on them.

Yeah, blue, actually about the color of our names here on the forum. Not positive it was coolant, of course, but I don't know what else it could be. No smell at all. Hopefully, it was something I picked up on the track, just before trailering. But I'll be checking on everything you suggested, today. Hoping for a nice 40 mile ride tomorrow. Thanks!;)!

If you overfill the coolant it will puke out, Learned this in 2008 when I bought my Vector. Topped off the bottle only to see it on the trail.

Well, bad news. My sled is at the doctor now. Tore it apart and coolant droplets were everywhere. Reservoir was empty. I took the cap off, and it was a bitch. Don't think the factory, or whomever prepped it, put it on right. Hoping that was it, because if it was crossed, it was never pressurized properly, and likely shook & puked all the coolant out of the tank. Or, the tank could be cracked. Looked like it, to my untrained eye, but the tech doesn't think so. Pressure testing now. Hope I hear something soon. We got snow now-hell of a time for it to go tits up.o_O

damn that sucks.

the new yama cool is blue in colour. i had it in my 2011 when i bought it and i think it was in my wr250x when i bought it but have replaced coolant in it 2wice since then.

Well, luckily the tech was right, the tank wasn't cracked. He gave it the once over after filling it back up and ran it for a half hour-45 minutes. Said it was as hot as it was going to get. No leaks. I must've been right about the cross-threading issue. Got her back. Thanks, guys.

40 mile or so ride today, trail 963 toward Barton City, absolutely gorgeous day. Got my baby back, and she screams! Finally getting some miles on her-got 5 times last year's mileage already.:flag:
