2010 RS VECTOR GT LTX STOCK FOR NOW!
HELLO GUYS I BOUGHT AN 03 RX-1 THIS YEAR AND WE FINALLY HAVE SOME SNOW TO GO RIDING SO IM LEAVING FOR NORTHERN VT SUNDAY! I JUST GOT MY 02 VIPER READY FOR THE TRIP AND DID THE USAL SEASON CARB CLEANING FOUND SOME PLUGS PIOLTS AND THE USUAL CRAP FROM THE SUMMER STORAGE. ANY WAY I READ THE MANUAL FOR THE RX TONIGHT AND THINGS LOOK A LITTLE DIFFRENT INTERALLY WITH THE CARBS SO MY QUESTION IS DO I HAVE TO DISASEMBLE THE TOP PORTION OF THE CARB FOR A GOOD CLEANING OR JUST THE BOWLS AND REMOVE ALL THE JETS AND CLEAN. ALSO ANYTHING TO LOOK OUT FOR OR TIPS??

THANKS IN ADVANCE JDP

Take the bowls off and remove each jet and scrape them with a needle or something. Make sure you can see through them all. little varnish like deposits stick to the inside of the jet. Most common problem is the pilot jet plugging. when you have the carbs out anyway you might as well take the tops off and inspect the needle diaphrams for holes. probably fine but their off anyway. Make sure as you lift off the black cover that you don't lose the litttle o-ring. it sticks to the top sometimes. as you lift off the top it should be the first thing you look for as not to lose it.

I bought my '03 Rx-1 M last year and over the summer I had her left out on the trailer with just the cover on her. When I brought her to the shop for some pre-season servicing the carbs were spotless on the inside, no dirt at all. Guys in the shop were really surprised.

I take everything apart, just take note at how many turns each fuel screw is set at, then spray everything with carb/brake cleaner and make sure your jets are clean
