I'm throwing a code 15.

When riding if I hit the gas too fast the sled will fall flat on its face at any rpms and almost toss me over the bars.

I did the TPS diagnostic and this is what I came up with:

When I squeezed the throttle the numbers went from 0 through 30 to 0 through 80 to 0 through 97 and then back to 0 at WOT.

I searched for the other threads but didn't find anyone with the same readings I got.

Is my TPS toast?

Sounds like its bad. You can check it with a multimeter set on resistance.
If you move the sensor through its range the resistance should have a smooth increase or decrease in the resistance reading. If it's erratic or goes to an open or short it's bad.

suppose to be 15 to 18 fully closed and 95 to 100 wide open. go into diagnostic mode and it will tell you exactly what the ecu is reading

you want diagnostic mode 1

My tps went and it activated the TORS and threw a 84 code. After I bypassed the tors my Dyno-LCD screen was showing some different throttle position numbers causing the sled to run terrible. I replaced the t.p.s. and re-wired the TORS back in the loop and all is well, actually it seems to run even better than before it started acting up. I think the new tps is an up-dated component from the mikuni that was there to start with.

When my TPS went south last year it acted the same way. Had intermittant opens throughout it's travel and would give TORS errors as well. Once replaced the sled ran fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I will check it out with a multimeter before I replace it.

When you change it what style Torx plus did you use? It is a very tight area to get into. Was it a screwdriver mounted or an "L" style?

As I remember it is a security torx. Meaning the bit has a hole in the center. I used a bit in a 1/4" socket drive adapter and a small ratchet I think.

Well guys,

Today I loosened up the TPS and started the sled up. I moved the TPS in small increments until the code 15/trouble light cleared. I tightened it back up and all is well.

She's pulling hard and the diagnostic is showing perfect 16-98 for the TPS.

I must have lucked out here.
