I bought a set of wahl bros. anti-ratchet drivers and they say you can eliminate the outside drivers and reduce rotational weight, which is good. Is this safe or do I need the extra support the outside drivers provide to the track?

anti ratchet drivers

I have a set on my 03 rx1. with the stock suspension they work very good. They eliminate ratcheting and you can run the track a little looser with no problems. You have to grind down the external drivers to clear the front suspension bar but they still worked very good for me. I have an M-10 now and I will be changing back to the original drivers because the front suspension bar on the M-10 is bigger so I had to grind too much off the external drivers. If you have the stock suspension I thought they worked great.

I do not use the outside ones... works great.

I guess I answered my own question tonight. There is no room for the outside drivers, as the wahl bros. drivers drive off the outside drive and inside drive lugs. The only way is to run the anti-ratchets only...

You are correct you can not run the outside driver with the anti's, however you can run the inside drivers with the anti's for added support and traction. With higher HP sleds it's recommeded to run the insides also.
