My 06 apex has a clunking noise thats seems to be coming from the brake dise area. I only hear it when i'm first taking off, slow speed once i speed up it goes away.. When i have it on the stand i can rev it up and i don't hear that noise. Anybody have any ideas
Thanks.
Thanks.

it almost sounds like a chain like noise when you're going up a big hill on a roller coaster clunk, clunk, clunk... I checked my chain it is good. And only when i'm on it, when it is on the stand i don't hear it.
Sound like the typical transfer rod clunk?

not sure what the transfer rod clunk is, I just got this machine. I ve spent lots of hours on here trying to learn about it.
Do a search and you will see allot of posts about the clunking noise. It typically happens when going slow and the suspension is not working hard.

a shock rebuild helps the transfer rod clunk you can also add a new washer to it

i have heard a clunk come from my suspension before but the noise i am hearing is coming from my brake disc area. brought it to a small shop in town here and he told me the that brake disc is sloppy, bad design. I think it is something different just not sure what!!

I had a warrior that did it and couldn't figure it out till I let a buddy ride it. He turned around in front of me and I could see the track slapping the front of the hyfax. What was happening is the closed windows were sticking on the front curve of the hyfax and causing the track to jump and slap. I installed slp anti wear pads and it never happened again. If I wouldn't have let my buddy ride it I never would have seen it happen.

maybe loose break pads?? I had a similar sound on my RX-1 and that was what it was... worn out, loose break pads.

The problem you described... sounds like one I had a year ago..Clunking at low speeds under load - OK when going faster.. took a while, no one could answer my question when... I Changed my belt!! Could not believe it - belt looked like new - even when I took it off - but problem went away totally... go figure

Your belt got burned at some time (e-brake on, track stuck, etc.), leaving a spot that's narrower then the rest of the belt. So at low speeds as the primary is starting to squeeze and pick up the belt, it gets to the narrow spot and falls down, making the noise. I had this happen on my viper once, and this is how it was explained to me.
