I have a trip planned for the 29th through the 1st. I know it has been snowing up there but the webcams don't show anything over a foot but I know you cant rely on those. The extended forecast isn't looking the greatest for what I'm looking to do. I got this feeling this trip isn't going to happen. Anyone been up around the twin lakes to Houghton area that can give me a snow report?

There is a ty ride this weekend out of calumet. I’m sure there will be good reports of conditions after that. I’ll be up there Friday to Sunday with them. I’ll try to report for you.

Grooming was to start last week in up. My buddies kid goes to school in houghton and was going out last Thursday

From what I have heard, they need way more snow for off -trail stuff. Lots of stumps and a lot of water that's not froze.

Off trailing riding in Keweenaw was insane. All fresh powder on day #1.
Day#3 things were all tracked up in and around bill Nichols trail.
Never have I seen so many going off trail. Took me by surprise.

Tracked up everything is an understatement. Some of these #*$&@ clowns are riding all over private land, driving across rutting up the trails that have just been groomed and sitting in the middle of the trail shootin the #*$&@ waiting to get hit. Have some respect for other snowmobilers and the land owners.

I sometimes think that these people have no brains. A trail is no place to stop unless there is a problem, just asking to be hit. Well hopefully all these dumbasses scratched there itch and start thinking for the rest of the season.

I do not like riding up there when there is no snow around people come from all around and do really stupid stuff and have no trail manners

The entire U.P. can be filled with #*$&@ hats and wanna be snow crossers as well as these "Off Trail" Retards that ruin it for everyone else. Nothing against the "Off Trail Guy" but the problem is know where you are riding and how to respect the trails and the landowners.. you dont need to rip up every hill side that has a foot of snow like your some kind of daredevil mountain rider on these petty little hills in the U.P.

Lol! That's too much! But seems to be spot on. They left no stones unturned. Lol!

Service roads, power lines, private property, etc. No mercy!

I'm an off trail guy but I agree with you. I have been riding the UP for 10 yrs now so I know where to ride. I feel like all these young kids go up there with there daddy's big bad mountain sled and tear the #*$&@ out of everything they see with no care in the world where that is.

I hear ya! My brother-in-law is one of those young dumb kids with no respect and it just drives my nuts. I have told him many times to start using his head and nothing gets through.

One good thing it looks like a big storm is heading to the mid west this should slow the flow to the UP
