Hi all! Anyone having any issues with overheating on their new 4-stroke Yamaha's? We just had a gentlemen bring in his brand new Attak, along with his wife's brand new Vector ER, both went on a weekend trip, only 158 miles, and both overheating?
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
Thanks, keep up the great work!

Yep
Probably a combination of the following ..air in the system and antifreeze needs to be thinned to the recommended 60:40 mixture

Not sure where you are located Robin but even if the air is out of their sleds and antifreeze is at proper ratio, the way conditions are in the Northeast, overheating could still occur.
Many of us have added the "accessory" rear cooler for added protection against overheating.
If you do any kind of a search with "overheating" as subject on this site, you will find ALLOT of information.

This is a topic that has been discussed again and again. I have read each thread and in all cases have benefited from all of your expertise. I just returned from NY state riding on some unfavorable conditions, but riding none the less. My 04 warrior overheated two times since I have owned it. The first time was during the break in stage and the second time it was just idling too long. In each of these cases, the outside temperature was 20 to 30. I expected the sled to overheat this weekend. Riding in temperatures that were well into the 40's is not all that smart. The end result was that the sled did NOT overheat at all. I have not installed a rear heat exchanger, but pay attention to idle time. I think that the issue of overheating may take care of itself once the motor frees itself up a bit. I suppose those of you that continue to have overheating issues after breakin may have coolant circulation issues or coolant content issues. I myself feel much better about the cooling abilities these machine's have.
