New to 4 Strokes. Looking at RX-1 & Have Questions

LOL, let's not get carried away. It's not the best sled ever made. The rear suspensions are junk, the stock seat is too low, the 2003's burned as much as a two-stroke, the plastics on the hood are poorly designed, and they weigh a ton. It WAS a revolutionary sled and it's a decent trail sled.

Well to each his own opinion, my 03 burns no oil period, $400 monoskid, nothing but a reliable 100+mph sled from day 1.
Are you a guerrilla they all way a TON.
I GUESS YOUR A VIPER LOVER, LOL SEEMS everyone spends $3000. On them before they get done fixing all the problems with them and they still won't hit a 100mph.
The poster here is buying a $2800. Sled not a $12,000. Sled.

No, but I would guess that an Apex is basically an RX-1 with all of the corrections, not to mention fuel injection so you don't have carbs to clean every year. So that might be the best sled ever.

You are correct and win my personality
Contest.
P.S. never had to clean my carbs in 13yrs.
I take care of it!!!!!!!!??!

Good Luck with that $100.
Remove carb rack and clean properly, re-install and sync carbs for $100.
I think you will pay more than that!!!!

I called the Yamaha dealer and they quoted me.....wait for it.....$320. I laughed. There's a custom cycle builder locally that I think will do it for half of that. I loathe cleaning carbs, and I'm not sure if I have the patience to even attempt synching them, not to mention the required tool(s).

HOLY CRAP...LOL, I would do them for $75 :)

That's what I told Lmann69, I learned from this site how to do mine and I now they are done right, I've read on here enough to now dealer can't do it for $100.

Not every dealership is there to screw you. Have a great relationship with the one here and know job is done right.

Glad you figured how to do yours all the power to ya. Don't need to be called out because you want to be a big man.

Sir I apologize, that was not intent at all.
Was just pretty sure around my location it would be higher-that's all, and your correct there are good dealers out there.

It really isn't that hard! I can clean the carbs on my warrior in about 30 minutes, and syncing takes another 15 or so. Also, no special tools required. Just some tubing, ATF fluid, and a 1x4 board!

Anyway, you will enjoy the RX! Even though my nytro is a vastly better handling sled, the warrior (rx1 with a 136 track) never fails to put a smile on my face! The sound, and the raw acceleration... never gets old!

You don't have to clean the carbs every year. I love the flip up hood on the RX best. Apex multi piece hood is a pain in the arse!

Rx's are sweet sleds, not perfect but neither are Apexs. Pro action skid is not junk but far from a great skid. Revalve works miracles for some. Stock seat is fine all sleds of that time had low seats, Its a good sled and can be updated a bit but I'd say ride it as is and then look at what you want to do.
