I just purchased 6" Woody's Dualies for my Attack. Have 4" Woody's Dualies now but it still seems to push more than I would like. I have also thought about purchasing new ski's but was hoping the 6" ers would work.

With the dualies I have eliminated any darting. I have raised up and down the limiter strap which only seemed to effect it under acceleration. It is when I am either decelerating around a turn or just normal driving that I notice that the ski's just do not seem to bite.

Anybody else have suggestions? I have not opened up the new 6" dualies yet so they could be returned. I am leaving for a 5 day 1300 mile or so trip a week from Sunday and do not want to chance that many miles with the way it is tracking at this time.

What other adjustment can be made to the suspension to help the front end steer better? I have heard of somepeople loosening the front shocks to the point where the collar is almost loose when the front end is elevated. I did loosen mine about 3/4" of an inch from where the dealer initially set them up but that did not seem to do much. If anybody does have a setting that seems to work with this method could you go out and meaure the amound of thread showing above the collar's so I have a place to set mine at?

I would imagine that others are experiencing the same problems. Seems though that most people complain about the darting and that is why they go with Simmons or Slydog ski's. Any help would be appreciated.

You need more bite.Put the front springs back to stock then add 1 or 2 turns tighter. Also set the weight transfer rod to halfway between 1/2(STOCK) and min.I have done this to my gt and it works great.

1. What do you consider a stock spot for the springs?

2. How much and what type of carbide are you running?

No studs at all. Just the 1 1/4" track. Not a big fan of studs due to the decreased lifetime you get out of your track. Although there are times I could see having them I ride 100% in the UP of Michigan and snow is normally good enough that I do not really need them IMO. I have had them before and do not really miss them.

Woody Doolys

I just installed the 6" Dooly's on my Attak and I am impressed with their handleing. I just ran a quick 60 miles and now need to dial in the suspension.

accobra66,I have the 6 inch duallys too.I don't know what the stock front setting for the spring on the attack is, but it should be in your owners manual.

Has anybody else had this problem with a tough time getting the front end to bite in the turns? What is everybody else running for carbides?

Here's my set up:

 6" Woody’s Doolys
 Limiter strap pulled up to the second to the tightest setting
 Transfer rod setting at "min."
 Front shock springs set such that when the skis are off the ground, the spring has neither tension on it nor any free play.

With this set up, when the Doolys were new, the sled would bite well in the turns. However, now that the Doolys are worn down, the sled will push in an icy turn.

Like you, I started out with 4" Doolys and the sled pushed a lot. Going with the 6" helped, but next time I might go with a set of 8". I hate "pushing" in the turns.
