Hello all.
I am going to be getting my apex within the next couple weeks.
I am planning to go through the Jackman Maine/Quebec border crossing hwys 173/201.
Has anyone here bought a used sled across at the Jackman Maine/Quebec border?
Any tips and advise is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Rick.

I didn't use the boarder crossing you are going to use but I did import 2 U.S. sleds through Port Huron. Make sure you look at the web site for the registrar of imported vehicles and it will give you the requirements. one of which being that you must fax the title to U.S. customs at the boarder crossing no later than 72hr prior to you arriving. Also ensure that the proper decals are afixed to the rh side of the tunnel, as I have noticed a few U.S sleds for sale on here that the decals have been removed from. This looks nice and clean but is a problem for a Canadaian to import the sled. You will also need to get a recall clearance letter from the OEM.

Good Luck! some time it can be very easy to get through and then other timer they are very difficult.
On another note we are looking at Ontario to a trip next winter, where would you recommend? We were thinking of going up past North Bay. We like to ride about 300/400 miles a day.
Thanks

We usually have great sledding here in Haliburton.
Last year was a wash. But we have high hopes for this year. Up past north bay and cochrane areas are supposed to be great riding. Would you like any other riding partners when you come up? Me and a couple buds want to head up north to like Kapuskasing or Timmins area. If my buddies flake out I would still be into it. I am eager to ride 3-400 miles a day. I have a hard time getting some of my riding partners to ride a 100 miles in one day!
Let me know,
Rick.

Rick, I don't know if you know or not, but we will be in Haliburton this year for an ice oval race. We were in Burks Falls last year and they have now decided to move it to Haliburton.

Not sure where it is exactly, only that we are going there. As for the date, I think they have a tentative one, but it isn't set in stone yet. Hopefully you can make it to the race and look us up in the pits. We are the only Yamaha team on the tour. Make youself known to us, I should have some freebee stuff to hand out.

Just got the date of the race in Haliburton, it is March 1, 2. We will also be in Burks Falls, which isn't too far on Jan. 5, 6.
