I do a bit of riding each year (usually average 3000 km) and am looking at buying a new Yamaha sled. The issue is being able to accommodate a 2nd rider (wifey) about 1 ride out of 10.

I've looked at the Phazer because of the dirty-big seat size but I don't know if 80hp is gonna be enough for the long haul. I plan on keeping this sled for a while. For that reason I'm leaning towards a 136" Vector (LTX, is it?)

Just wondering if anyone has one with a jackseat and what you think of them? Are they comfortable? Easy to put on? Pics of this, anyone?

Ski-Doo has a pretty good setup for people in my situations...but it's time to go 4-stroke now. :)

Looking forward to everyone's ideas/thoughts/opinions. Thanks!

Elypsis,

I have installed a Seat Jack on a 2006 Vector GT. It fits and looks good. I have not had a chance to use it yet to have an opinion on ride quality. The handles are lower than the handles on the real 2-Ups I have owned in the past. I expect the handles will be fine for an adult or an older child.

I already had the "bigboy" spring from Yamaha on the sled due to the ditch riding I do. I almost never bottom out ditch running with the big boy spring. I expect it will trail ride fine with my 100 lb child on the trails.

I also stretched my Vector to 136" this year, but not due to the Seat Jack. I did that for ditch running also.

To install the Seat Jack you have to remove the existing seat and mount a permanent plate on each side. This requires drilling through the tunnel. The plates look fine once the seat is put back on. The two plates stay on, then the Seat Jack goes on/off with four fasteners.

I would be happy to send or post pictures.

jack away

my brother has one and it fits and works well

My garage is dark, but here is an attempt at pictures.

Sled has Simmons skis, tracksusa rail extension, gade-thrasher tunnel extension, 136" Camoplast Predator track, big-boy spring, Yamaha mirrors, 2" Rox riser, Seat Jack and Ulmer Stage III clutch kit.

The 4-stroke is fun, reliable and quick off the line.

I will attempt some better pictures in the daylight tomorrow.

Here's some daytime pictures. I included some close-ups of the brackets.

what is the cost of the jackseat and who sells them??? thanks. :yam:

Keep an eye on EBay.

I picked up my RXJack on Ebay for $200 US but you could tell there was quite a bit of interest from others, I think that I got lucky in the bidding.
