Has anyone tried different gearing on their Vector. I am not a big fan of top end but I want the best for corner to corner and 1000' runs. I'm wondering if gearing down to 21/38 (1.83) would be better for my riding.

I noticed the Rage is geared lower than the Vector (1.77 vs 1.73) but from several posts it seems the Rage has the same or better top end than the Vector.

Any comments.....

go to a 23-38 it will take it . hh weights with 3 in the one hole,4.2 inthe 2 hole ,and 3 in the tip, stock primary spring , 50 degree on the secondary with pink spring. This what i call my poor mans set-up. Will work good with stock gearing. Many tests on this set-up. Enjoy.

I ran a 20 38 with CPR clutching, The sled would put at least two langth's on a stocker out of the hole and more when there was good hook and still pulled the same top end as bud's in stock form, 112 on speedo with slides getting warm frome poor lube. The stock clutching get's lazy up top and does not want to shift (this is what Jeff simon's track dyno showed) so with the lower gearing and the clutch shifting out i could pull the same topend and in some run's that we did i even pulled two more MPH than the stocker. I did put the 22 38 back in to see what it will pull for top end with this clutching but have not had good cond's to try yet. The lower gear will pull harder on the bottom end with the proper clutching. By just droping the gearing you will likley loose a fair amount of topend.
