Just wondered if anyone is having trouble with their four strokes running on this "blend" of gas and ethanol. I havent seen a difference myself but i've been talking to a lot of people two stroke people that are. Lot of sleds melting down and they think the cause is the E10 gas we get these days. Its 90% gas 10% ethanol in alll grades...regular, midgrade, and premium. I started putting in non ethanol gasoline in my sled which has an octane of 90. Figure its not much more $ and has to be better for it.

Re: Anyone having problems with E90 fuel?
I'm guessing that all the fuel I buy locally is 10% ethanol (commonly called E10), except the E85 that I put in my flex fuel truck. It seems Michigan doesn't require pumps to be labeled except E85. We haven't had problems with any of our cars, bikes, tractors, generators, snowmobiles, or weedwhackers. The only 2-stroke we own is my wife's Ski-Doo E-TEC and it runs great all the time on the recommended 91 octane. Just curious where you're finding gasoline without ethanol?poleclimber said:Just wondered if anyone is having trouble with their four strokes running on this "blend" of gas and alcohol. Yea E10 I guess its called. Up North Party Store, BP gas station in boyne city has non ethanol gas. Price was only $3.34 a gallon for 90 octane. Randy has seen a lot of problems with this gas when it sits for a while in a machine.

E85 is 85% ethanol and 10% gas. The stuff you are thinking of is E10 or 10% ethanol.

Thanks for the tip. I work in Boyne City most days.
I guess I have to take back my statement that I haven't had any problems. Now that I think back, my Vector and my wife's Honda 599 both had pilot jets plug up after being stored with fresh fuel and Stabil the same as I've done for 35 years. Now I drain carbs before storage.
Fuel is only good for a month tops as far as Im concerned reguardless of ethanol. Im thinking Randy is seeing alot of 2 strokes with old fuel burning down.

He's not seeing any burning down at shop just stuff like mbw919 was saying. A guy he sells a lot of parts to who works on sleds is the one seeing all the damage.
heres a little info
