Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone has hooked a VDO tach up to their rx-1 and if so which wire you picked the signal up from & which dip switch settings you had to use.
Also was wondering if anyone has setup a Racepak on their RX-1 and which wire you tapped into & which setting you had for pulses.
Thanks!

I have the Racepak Hot Tach Pro. My sled is in Storage, but I can stop by tomorrow and start it and check the pulse setting. I don't think I wrote it in the directions, but I'll check. I know Phil has the Racepak on his. I'm sure the pulse settings would be the same for all the gauges.

I plan to hook up a Hot Tach Pro as well using the engine rpm & jackshaft rpm inputs. Which wire did you tie into for the engine rpm? Thanks

I guess I should have checked the forum before I went over to the storage unit. Oh well, the pulse setting is P 6. As for the wire?? That will require another trip
Good thing it is only 2 miles away.
Looking at the schematic it should be Y/B or Yellow Black, but I will have to check to confirm. Another thing, on the Hot Tach Pro the rpm's are perfect until 10,000 and then they become erratic. There was a post on here months back about having to send the unit back to EGT to reprogram it to work over 10k. When I called them a year ago they didn't really have an answer for me. Maybe they have figured it out and have a solution. It may have been Lakeracer who made the post. I wish I could remember. Anyway I'll check the wiring and let you know.

Buckeye, thanks for the info! I think you're right with tapping into the YB wire. That's what I was going to tie into by going off the schematic. As far as the HTP reading past 10,000 rpm I have had no problems with that. I've had it on a race Viper that runs 10,100-10,250 rpm and it works fine
I did have to put a resistor in the line though. I've had it all the way up to 11,000 rpm with no problems. Thanks for the help!
