anyone know where i can find what class i'd have to run in the gravenhurst radar runs? i have a apex with stage one mpi, polar clutch, (factory) shaved track and ice picks. what class would i be in?

You would be in one of the pro classes because of the ice pics, mod 1000-1249 probably. You would be better off with trail studs running in trail open power adder.

DC5 is correct. Your problem is the track and ice pics! Because of that you will have to run the pro side classes. If your just going to test your sled go for it as is. But don't expect to be competitive in that class with a stage 1. I have a stage 3 on a built engine that will run in that class and I don't think I have enough to be competitive. There are some very fast sleds in that class. Speeds approaching 160mph.

I like that guess as well. If its set up really well you may pull high 120's

I ran consistent 121 with full ride height and 144 dull trail studs on a 1" track....Big Kev's F11T set on full kill has now gone 1mph faster!! So I am being optimistic at 125mph!!

Are we talking the mpi charged sled on pics or your sled? I know on the pro side with pics he will hook up. My buddies stage one Nytro at full ride height and no traction ran 118 last week. I'm guessing the apex will out mph it by at least 6-8.
Drop in and chat with us this weekend. We will have 2 yammies. Black stage 3 mpi apex, a 600 improved stock SRX and a red 2003 Canadian edition f7. We may only be there for Sunday though!

thx guys,
i ran it for the first time yesterday with a 23/38 combo and we ran high 125s and a 126.4 in the 1/4. we ran it down the 3000' track and ran out of gear and blew the belt off at 140. i think i'm going to change the gear to a 24 today too see what the differnece maybe in the 1/4. i'll look for you guys on saturday if you're around? i don't think i'll take my sled if i'm running against 160mph, i don't like being last unless i'm trail riding, lol.

For $35.00 it gives you a great test area. Track will be excellent. Make a couple passes and use the time to test yourself. The other bonus is you will have a lot of other boosted sled owners there to chat with and pick their brains. Sledders always seem to want to help each other!

23/38 with 9t drivers and 11000rpm is 136mph on paper.....so 140mph??
oh, let me add that's 136mph with 15% OVERDRIVE. Are your clutches machined too?

i have 10 tooth drivers. the 1:1 is 126mph and the full overdrive is 140mph at 10800rpm. i tried testing today but we had a 20mph head wind. i'm going to save the $4 a litre race fuel for a better day.

10800rpm at 5% OD , 10t 23/38 is 133mph
10% OD would be 140....but that's on paper.
Unless you have machine those clutches for more OD....

polar racing doesn't state how much overdrive they have on their clutches. i keep trying to upload the 140 on the radar gun but it keeps coming back file empty. when i figure out how to do it i'll post the speed.
