Anyone modify stock muffler?

Seems like all the aftermarket exhausts I've seen use packing (which eventually burns out) while the stock muffler uses baffles. The ideal exhaust would be a stainless steel or Ti constructed, baffle equipped, significantly lighter than stock unit. I don't know if this exists?

exactely.
Its cheaper to do a packing muffler, becuase they just throw a perforated tube thru a hollow body and call it a muffler, when its more like a mellow stright-pipe!
