OK so what is much better, they dont dart, they slow you down by say 5-10 mph not the gain of 3-5 they promised, they bite so hard that they high side very easy, and talk about steering pressure, wtf is this, and just so you know,i am not a wimp, but they do turn way to hard at slow speed, with min. transfer and limiter strap in stock hole,i am mnot to impressed with them yet.Tuning Forks said:I've been running them since Dec. on my gt. So far, all I have been doing is lake riding.....not too much to report.
I just moved the spindle mount to the rear most position. I should be on some trails this weekend!

skis
heyguys , im not sure what usi x ski i have , i bought them last year so if the x2 is new this year i have the old version , but i felt the same way about them , hard to steer , i could not turn them an inch with out the sled moving , but then i added the power steering plate and moved the ski mount to the front hole , i really really like them now , i had simmons they were very nice but wanted to try something new , i also have had c&a good skis also mine were race ski and worked well on the trail but did not float well , after using these three skis i think my next set will be the usi , with a steering plate and monted in the front hole , they bite hard in the corners and flloat nice off trail ...just my opion

Running Tripple Threat USI skis very agressive.

I can't comment on these new style. I had USI VX skis on my Warrior and steering became VERY heavy. At slow speed it was extremely difficult to turn.

Re: skis
I have the Project X skis. They do ski hard but are manageable in my opinion. I can definitely feel it in my arms by the end of the ride. B2SO did you experience any darting with the skis mounted in the front hole? I do have the plates as well and they did help some.

I have the C&A razors with the 7.5 shapers, I am switching over to the Bergstrom trip 8" with ski savers I will let you know if it helps in the heavy steering.

NO DARTING IN THE FIRST HOLE
NO , THERE WAS NO DARTING IN THE FRONT MOUNT , I DID HAVE IT IN THE MIDDLE MOUNT THOUGH , BUT THEN I ADDED 144 STUDS AND NOW IT TRACKS A STRAIGHT LINE ... SO I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS THE STUDS OR MOVING THE MOUNTING HOLE THAT STOPPED THE DARTING , I WOULD GUESS THE STUDS , BUT FOR SURE LESS STEERING EFFORT IN THE FRONT MOUNT ...

I thought the rear hole was used to decrease turning difficulty.

If you are going to USIs on the apex you will need the triple threats, as they were made for rider forward sleds. the project x skis were made for the older sleds. I ran both on my attak and the project x were awful darting hard to steer etc. But the triple threats are great no darting only are hard to turn when you are not moving.
