I currently have a 2009 FX Nytro RTX SE and am toying with the idea of adding some mods. I don't want to spend the money on a turbo or supercharger.. Looking at possibly new exhaust, new clutch and cold air intake. Any experience with this company please let me know. Talked to them extensively, just want you fellow TYers to give me your take...Thanks!!

Give your money to someone who can actually back up there performance clames. Give ulmer a call.

Anybody can make a intake and exhaust but my money goes to ulmer.

parts

I have used a lot of their parts. It is all top notch. He will take care of you and your problems without any hesitation. He will help you set up whatever you are working on. I have spent a lot of times on the phone with Chris explaining instructions to me. The two best add ons i ever did to a snowmobile came from him. The wheel kit and the clutch kit. The clutch kit he set up the way i wanted, smoooth take off and hard pull from then on out. The herky jerky of the Nytro got old real fast. The wheel kit added, saved me my hyphax. I think i used 1/4 of my slides last year and it was a limited snow winter. You cannot go wrong with Chris.

I have spent more than two years of keeping in contact with Chris Schmidt, and I have been very pleased with his knowledge, commitment, and passion for his aftermarket products. He has raced sleds and was a top qualifier in one of his races as his web site indicates. So he knows how to make things go fast. He will work with you in many aspects so that your sled is performing very well. He tailored some of my requests which really showed me how much that he cared. He also strives to use the best materials to make his products. He will also share with you information about his products. I have his clutch kit, nytro dual exhaust, and tunnel closer kit. I will be going back to him for more product.

I talked extensively with Chris and he seemed very, very knowledgeable. Did you gain any top end after adding the wheel kit?, he mentioned possible higher top speeds......KHEXX

I am looking for a exhaust on my sled but I dont want it to be real loud, not much louder than stock if possible. But I still want performance and +HP. How much louder would you say the dual exhaust is than stock? Also how do you like the clutching, he told me he has it set up to engage at lower RPM's. Have you given any thought to his intake? KHEXX,
Schmidt Bro's. have a couple of youtube videos where you can hear the actual sound of their nytro dual exhaust. You should check out these videos. Just type in Schmidt Bros. dual exhaust or nytro dual exhaust in search and the videos should come up. My exhaust sounds great at idle. I do not consider it a loud pipe. When you punch the throttle, you can certainly tell the difference from stock setup. I would also recommend the tunnel closer kit to rid the ice build-up. I added his clutch kit this summer so I have not ridden it yet. Chris can tell you the details on how it performs.

I had Chris product's in my Phazer. They worked very well. I had to order them to Finland and Chris helped with the customs too.

My experience is good about that company.

Would use the products on my Nytro too but it comes too expensive to order because of high finnish customs fees :(

Ulmer Racing... real R&D with a dyno, not backyard R&D. My money goes to Ulmer Racing and Excell Motorsports.

Which clutch kit did you add? Stage 3? Also does the exhaust you added get annoying on long rides? Pretty sure I will be buying a bunch of products from Chris...Most likely will be the intake, stage 3 clutch kit, wheel kit, and hopefully the exhuast.....

KHEXX,

I'm glad to answer any questions that you may have on the Schmidt Bros. product. I installed his stage II clutch kit this past summer and fall. Base your decision on what you would like to achieve.

Regarding the exhaust, I selected the Schmidt Bros. exhaust because I believe it to be trail friendly. It is "not" annoying. I actually really like it. I rode it for a whole season. Please PM me (send me a private message) which is a nice feature on this site. I'll respond to you if you would like to discuss further.
