Has anyone installed an offset rear axle from Performance Engineering on an 03'RX-1 121" rear skid? I recently purchased one from HPE and now I have questions regarding its installation because the directions and pictures were not very clear. I also talked with tech reps at HPE and PE (no longer in business) and the rep from the former PE told me a couple of options. 1- When I asked him where to mount the track adjusters,(which were originally to be mounted in front of the rear idlers on the outside of the rails. Transfer Rods are in the way.) His reply was to mount them on the inside of the rails. I still belive the transfer rod nut and bolt are in the way. 2- He also stated some Yamaha guys are moving the transfer rods inside the rails. Is this possible? The directions also state for Yamaha 121" suspensions, to use (2) 8" outer wheels and (2) 6 3/8" inner wheels. Which I purchased. Upon further review of the new offset axle, I noticed that all 4 rear axle wheels still have the same centerline. When I questioned this, he stated that all rear wheels need to be 8" diameter. This makes sense if all wheels have the same center. My question is this. Has anyone installed one of these? Any info would greatly be appreciated. I would like to install a rear axle kit and if this one doesn't work, then which ones do. I mostly lake ride if that helps. Thank you for your time. Jeffl

I've often wondered about this too. I've been told that you can't fit all 4 eight inch wheels, and the inside ones need to be stock. Then I've been told that you can use all 8 inchers???? I would buy this kit in a heartbeat if I could get a straight answer, or find someone who has done it. Please let me know what you find out.

MPI kits works fine. You have to grind a flat on the washer on the bottom of the transfer rod. Four 8 inch wheels and 2 to 3 mph on top. I sold the susp. to powerahaulic, maybe he could post a picture to help you guys.
