I don't have the stock exhaust, But the Super Q just got a little to loud for me. I don't want to close trails or get a ticket. Is there a way to make it more quiet?

I do wear an Ipod, I am just worrying about getting a ticket. When I go by peoples house its never early in the mourning or late at night,So I can go slow and it would be fine.

Yea I understand I have the same exhaust. I have the same problem with mine. It seems the more you ride your sled the louder it gets. I think the only way is to cut them open to repack, but then the fun part of re-assembly. I'll call it a lesson learned on these pipes. Next time I'm going to better research before I buy a shiney new one.
I know they seem really loud when your our on the sled. Being you are a good neighbor and worry about the noise. Have you had some one ride it while you try and hear it off in the distance?
I know by my house I can hear all sleds running and thats 500 yrds from the trail. Heck I can hear the atv ice racers running on the lake. And that is a good mile away from me. I think as long a you not trying to piss anyone off you'll be ok with the loud exhaust. Unfortunatley there will always be someone who complains.
And it is nice to hear that there are guys out there like you that still worry and respect their neighbors.

Thank you,I don't get why people don't all act this way. Since I am 20 I automatically get put in the immature group,But I am far from it. If you have real loud sleds trails get close,Its elementary. Yes your 100000% right,This thing wasn't so bad when I bought it. But it defiantly got louder. Is it just me or when you 1st start her up and for the 1st hr its not too loud,But if you ride all day it gets a louder? I don't think I am going crazy, but could be!

Thats what mine does also the more you ride it the louder it gets during the day. And the miles you put on this exhaust the louder it gets also. It really sucks that there isn't an easy way to repack these exhausts. Thats why I'm starting to think HINDLE. If they are anything like a motorcycle exhaust they will be alot easier to repack.
Here's an example of how loud mine gets.
I've noticed when I come up to slower traffic on the trails and they don't want you to pass. All I have to do I just start blurping the throttle and they think I'm right on there a*&. So they will pull over and let us by. Thats how loud mine is. And I know I shouldn't make extra noise but I use common sense. Meaning no house's or neighbor hoods around its ok to be somewhat loud.

you might want to try welding a cone in. I've been told that it quiets the exhaust by a couple of decibels. I tried it on my Hauck husher, but it was still to loud for my likeing so I am using my stock muffler.

When I ride WOT it gets my ears ringing and sometimes can give me a headache. But when I'm ditch banging or on and off the throttle alot it doesn't bother me.
That's where the IPOD is nice. I just wish there was an easier way to adjust the volume on mine. I have to take my gloves off open up my jacket, just to adjust volume that sucks, but oh well.

It's interesting to watch the pattern of threads initiated by Nytro evolve. They tend to go like this:
1) Ask for help
2) Misunderstand the suggestions offered
