I saw a video of a turbo Apex in a Nytro Chassis. I would think this should be an easy install? Maybe not turbocharged, but just the stock 4cly would be fine with me. The 3cly is in the Apex chassis so that would mean the 4cly mounts the same? Anyone done this? I have not been able to find any other threads on this swap. I am sure it has been discussed before, but search just gives me pages of stuff not related.

Just curious why you would want to....I believe you would be adding some weight to gain what? The 3 cyl has more torque and if overall hp is what you are looking for a turbo solves that. Just my 2c

Actually the two motors don't mount the same, the 3 cyl sits lower and further back then the 4 holer. It is possible to do, but like others have said why? The Nytro is almost up to Apex power, you would be adding a bunch of weight for a few hp. Just my thoughts on it.

Yamaha has at least one Nytro with a 4 cylinder in it. An acquaintance of mine sat on it ( I was expecting a version of it to be the new release this year, oh well). Anyway, it would be interesting to do the swap even for the sake of doing it. As for info on doing this, it might be a closer drop in than expected, or maybe not... how good are your fab skills?

It can be done...WELL anything can be done with enough cash & time, but I don't see the benefit. A couple of HP and higher top speed maybe? Seems like a lot of work for not much results except for a nice show piece to your riding buds.

I can see a few of reasons to do it.

1) Cause you can.

2) HP gain. Torque as well?

3) Higher top speed.

4) lighter chassis that can take the bumps.

5) Cause you can.

So nobody on here has done it?

I think the 3 cyl Nytro actually develops more torque then the 4 cyl genesis... 8

Its funny that nobody brings up the most obvious difference.........the width of the motors. Ride an RX1 or Apex back to back with a Vector (same chassis) and you will feel the obvious difference. A narrower engine makes for a much better handling sled.
