Apex/Attack suspension ride quality

I thought my '05 Rage was sweet but I wouldn't trade back from my '06 GT even if the Rage had a turbo.

So Kevin, did mama actually let you ride the GT or did you have to trick or bribe her?

She loves the GT when the trail is rough, but not when its smooth. She feels safer on the RX when its smooth due to the lower center of gravity. I'd like to get her an Apex or Attack, but when the trail is smooth, she stops, and gets on the RX. What do you do when you have a pair of Apex's and a smooth trail? Don't ride?

Personally, I'd look at the Vector GT or Rage for my wife as I don't believe she'd like the Apex for the same reasons.

Glad you found that out for me Kevin. ;)!

But here is the thing Steve. Insurance prices will probably be the same because of the cc rating, so why not get an Apex. Also, its easy to stand up over the bumps on an Apex. I don't think you can do that with the Vector, can you?

Kevin you can stand up over the bumps with my vector. The insurance rated mine as a 600 class because it's 120hp.

Ryan, I need to shop for insurance. They rate the sleds according to cc's. They asked why I have such high performance sleds, I told them they are not.

I just got new insurance on my 05 RX-1 and my 06 Attak. On the sheet it said both were 600cc machines.
From Progressive. ~650/year for both.

Wow that SRX must ride like a brick. I can't compare the two. All I can say is my Attack bottoms on everything. I'm not very heavy (180 without gear) so I don't want to crank it up too much, but one rip over stretch of moguls and I'm ready to put'er back on the trailer. Good thing I don't have fillings and my knees and back are brand new. :o|

Forgot to mention...after that same strtch of moguls the left spindle was straight up and down as the a-arms twisted from the pounding. Got a Pioneer front end kit coming on the bus. Hopefully we can get back to the rough stuff once it's installed. Love that motor though. :die

'02 Viper $94 a year
'03 RX $118 a year
'06 Apex $156 a year

What does insurance cost have to do with your wife feeling comfortable on a sled?

I'd like mine to go with me but she just laughs, points at the mud on my sled and says she has a Grizzly for doing that.
