Hey guys got a question...I have a 2007 apex rtx. Bought it last year after the rev locked up on me. Anyhow, there is a super Q exhaust on it I believe. Guy said that was the only thing done to it. I added Ulmer clutch kit. So... when I am at idle up to about 20mph or so and hit the throttle quick and hard it cuts out and kinda sounds like it is backfiring inside the air box and just falls on its face? When I am rolling along and hammer on it then it doesn't really do it that I noticed. I thought it was from the aftermarket exhaust. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to the engine and things. I bought a pcV and ulmer sent me a map for it. Just put it on and still seems to kinda do it but I haven't rode it yet. Waiting for some snow hopefully this week. Any one have any ideas what else I could check or what it could be? I know this is stupid question but could it just be that its just to quick of a blurp of the throttle and it makes it cut out? Doesn't really do it when I roll into the throttle. Like I said just when I give it a quick hit of the throttle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Apex's and rx sleds seem to prefer a fast roll on over a direct mash of the throttle. Both my rx and apex did this so I would think it was normal. If I had the sled moving and mashed it they where fine.

Not the Rev limiter because it doesn't even rev up when I do it. Maim...thanks for the info. Makes me feel a little better. Just hoping nothing is wrong with it. Only 2k miles on dang thing

I don't think it is normal. I have owned a 2003 and 2005 RX1 and now a 2010 Apex LTX GT and none of them would or ever had the symtoms you explain. dead start out of the hole was imediate power up? Might want to start with fresh set of plugs or maybe dirty injector or fuel filter issue? put the rear of the sled up in a stand and see if it does the same under no load?
hope this helps.
hope this helps.

Have you cleaned the air box the foam May be full of oil. Next time it dose it keep an on the gauges to see if it gives you a code (sound maybe like TORS kicking in bad cable) just had that happen on my nytro.

I'll put some new plugs in. Also get some injector cleaner as well. And check the foam for oil. I did put a 3 Rox riser on. It seemed OK but that might be the issue with the tors. Why wouldn't it do it at idle. Come to think of it. It did start idling a little higher for some reason. Think that's the problem guys? Thanks for all the input as well

I'd say it's definitely your issue. First indication is the higher idle, second is not revving up. Get the slack adjusted and I bet it disappears.

When I put the riser on it didn't pull the cable but it was maxed out. I will just drop the riser tonight and see if that's it. If it is should I get cable extension or I seen some people talking about the tors delete kit or something

I'm 5" overstock with stock cables. You'll need to reroute the throttle cable under the bar. That'll likely be all you'll need to do.

I'm pretty sure I did go under the bar with the cable. I have rtx model so riser is higher from stock than gt.

Cable is under bars. Took riser off and dropped everything down and it still does it?

My stocker 07 apex would always had a "stumble" if you will if you mashed the throttle off of idle or under 20 mph. It can (at least on mine) be adjusted out by the on board low speed air fuel adjustment from the dash... again talking a stock sled.

Thanks Rich. I can do that in the programmer as well I guess if I can figure that out or have someone do it with a custom map. I read about the air fuel adjustment on the dash. Might have to look into that a little closer
