Just bought an apex and have to do the doughnuts so i was thinking I should change the exhaust too! What is the feedback on the excell exhaust? Do the apexes have the drone that my RX did and will an aftermarket exhaust help to eliminate that? I don't want anything loud that will get me tickets either..

They help with the low end a lot. I had the Hauck exhaust and like the sound.

If you're runnning OFSC trails in Ontario be ready for backlash.
Pipes don't cooperate well with others on the trails...

Excell sounds great,i love the way my full exhaust system with hauck trail silencer sounds! like the stock rear tailpipe look too,not cool with the Excell center exit.but after a few hours down the trails ,i wish it would be quiet....maybe i should design/make my own electronic-cutouts !

Go with the updated stainless stock Y-pipes....stock sound and should be more durable.
I wondered about a pipe on the ofsc trails but I thought the excell was around the same as the stock?

Not too sure what the Excell sounds like, but in th more bult up areas of the trail system, cans are frowned upon.
Not too sure where you are either, but in the Ganaraskra Forest, OPP are known to ticket sleds with cans. They nail ATV's in the summertime.

I thought that was more so with a two stroke?
Excell is loud and sounds good,go to there website and you can here an Apex wide open.as for being legal DB in riding areas its not..it should be ok to make noise in the middle of no where! Harleys,Muscle cars,Diesels make noise too and its ok to a lot of cops.i dont get it? i have not been busted yet,and if i do it wont stop me from making noise! good luck!

The Hauck looks stock, and you have an option of loud, or legal. I have owned the Hauck, and it was durable, but whiney. The excell sounds deeper, and throatier IMO. With either I suggest copper doughnuts. I know ulmer is selling copper doughnuts and the excell setup also if you want it all together in one order.

If you must, why not gut the original.
I'm just worried then apex will have the same drone that my RX had and was thinking Maybe aftermarket exhaust would remedy that
Drone is pretty much gone or un-noticeable cause of the loudness/noise the of "slip-on" imo.get one or make your own,you will be fine. stock gutted, snostuff, bender or mbrp .all 4 of those are very similar.some people like them, but i am not a fan..and i have exhaust on eveything i own.to each there own, hope this helped ya.jminor1 said:I'm just worried then apex will have the same drone that my RX had and was thinking Maybe aftermarket exhaust would remedy that

Excell exhaust
Have the Excell on my sled. Amazing sound. Sounds just like a street bike. No drone but on long trip it does get loud. At idle and nid RPM sounds very similar to stock exhaust, but at FT it really opens up.
Had a noise ticket around Bracebridge from trail warden last year and took it to court and won it.
Cops dont seem to be inforcing the noise issue just the trail wardens
The Excell is 13lbs lighter than stock as well
