Will changing the direction of the exhaust coming out of the stock muffler affect performance at all? I am considering turning it down and running it through the rear pan so I can build a custom auxillary fuel tank back there plumbed into the main tank just not sure what to do about the exhaust build it through the fuel tank with shielding of course or dump it down or turn it out and stay away from it. I only have so much room and I want to try and get 4 gallons capacity
I have had both and stock and yoshi. The yoshi was too loud so I put a silencer in it and it blew the muffler apart. Stock seems to be the most durable so far. My plan was to run a XP trail tank (13.5 gall) and dump the exhaust up by the drivers and use that space for a muffler of sorts.
To stay stock dumping the exhaust in the tunnel is ok but its loud on hard packed trails. I would think it would drive you nuts it does me and I like loud things. Your better off going into a car chamber muffler and dumping it outside of the tunnel. Its a tight fit and still may cause problems down the road.
Performance didn't seem to change with any exhaust I had on there.
