I have an 03 t-rx mountain :4STroke:  . When you put it on it's side or roll it the carbs flood the engine :o| . So pin the throttle crank the engine for 5 minutes ( hope your baterey lasts :o| :ORC ) and let it work its way out. How about the apex when you do the same do you still have the flooding problem? How about you turbo Apex Is it better than a less 70# t-rx? I may build a t-apex in the next year wanted feed back first.

apex

i rolled mine 25 times and let it sit fro a minute to make sure there wasnt oil in the top end and then first turn of the key she fired. if it doesnt start first try let it sit for a minute and it starts.

Rolled mine about 30 times also. Fired right up. With the fuel injection there really is no flooding problems. On another note, the plastic on these apex's don't handle wrecks well. I had plastic scattered every where.

If you're doing the "open the throttle and crank" trick, you may get better luck popping off the top of the airbox and lifting the carb slides... otherwise the carbs are still closed. 2-man operation and be careful to release as soon as it starts to fire up.

no, since I have the turbo I do not think i could ride a none boosted sled. Lazy you need to ride one, you will be hooked. This year in our area no sled can match my 03, there is just nothing close. The hard to start when on the side is miner campared to the rush it gives you. But if fuel injection stops it, thats my next sled with turbo of course.

Layed my 06 Apex Mtn on her side doing some serious carving last night. Bucked me off but good. Rolled it back on it's feet, was stalled out and fuel light was flashing. Turned key off, then on. Fuel light cleared and it didn't hesitate to start one bit !! Second time now ! Gitty UP !!

Took my 07 apex mountain out of the garage for the first time this year and fouled the plugs right off the start. Put new ones in and fired right up. Next year put new plugs right away. Thats the biggest problem i have had with this machine. Most reliable sled on the market by far. Total yamaha quality, can't beat it.

Trouble Free... Knock on wood!

Third season in now. 3650 Km on machine with original plugs and belt. One oil change with new filter. Gitty UP !! Just back from Revy this weekend. Could use a little more fresh stuff, but nothing to complain about. Only problem with this machine so far is parking in the garage and getting moisture in fuel. Thank God for gasline antifreeze :yam:

Did you put fuel stabilizer in the tank in the spring, and let it run a few minutes? Plugs probably fouled due to dead gas. 6 years, no fixin'. ...busted pieces due to unseen obstacles? ....sure.
