I dont like a camera mounted on the sled. You get way to much bouncing around. Your heads natural motor skills keep the camera extremely smooth.

Heres one with a backwards chestie mount available from GoPro. It's a neat view:

And here's one from a bumper mounted ski pole facing backward. It's a really cool view but I should have used some video editing to remove the shakiness. It helps to show the steepness of hills though. Not an Apex but it gives you a decent perspective:

I have several different Ram mount base options. This one is in a backpack.

Mounting camera to sled doesn't sacrifice the quality that much.
Here is the GoPro mounted behind me.

I've had good luck with the hood mount however, you will need to remove the audio. I had a lot of buzz/rattle but a good video

With the ram mount system you have a ton of options for mounting and they will be dual purpose. I can use them for my gps and gopro. I just ordered an adapter to go from the gopro camera box to the ram mount and I will be able to use all of my different gps mounting stuff for the gopro. I have a ram mount suction cup (and many others)that I can mount the gopro to the front of my sled and with the different arms availible for the ram mount I can position it vrtualy any way to get some cool video.

Helmet mount seems to be the best for me so far. I have been trying on the handlebar and it's not bad, but still a little shaky. I am going to something together with a mix of these.
