Are the front shocks of the apex GT rebuildable? I´m considering getting a set, which has about 4k miles on them. I´m thinking a rebuild is in order, if possible..

shock rebuild
frank at shoc tec in drayton ontario is the man, just send him your shocks and he will take care of the rest, rebuild, retune whatever you need. prices are very reasonable, turn around time is excellent. he can even custom tune them to your weight if you want. give him a try , you wont be disappointed. I think getting them sericed every year is overkill in my opinion, unless you are racing or something. once every couple of seasons seems to work great for me. just check them once and a while to make sure their is no oil leaking out and you are good to go.

Pfft, mine started leaking at the top adjuster last year. Almost like an o ring deteriorated. Ill have to see about having mine re done.
2009 apex ltx gt. Less than 2k miles and never jumped or bottomed out. Sad

It really comes down to what and how you ride. Think more in terms of cycles between rebuilds, with a cap of time. So if you ride highway smooth trails probably every three years after the first season. Rough beatup trails, every trip, for 1000+ miles, rebuild every season. I say after the first year because you should get the shocks oil changed and get them valved for you weight/style after the first season. You'll have some feedback for what the shocks did well and not so well, you can determine if spacers are needed, dual, or triple rate springs, hi-low valves, etc.
