Go buy it, after you ride it you will wonder why
everyone else doesn't ride one too. I am 155 lbs
and have no problems at all with the weight of the
apex.

Try it at a Yamaha demo ride first and see if its right for you. See what you can get for a price on a leftover '06 or check the pricing on an '07. The '07 models are only a week away.

I guarantee it is the sickest machine you have ever ridden... I will not even consider riding my Rev 600 SDI which I though was the greatest thing ever (last year). Dont think twice about the weight of the sled.... it is not an issue. Feels just as light and nimble as my Rev.... but has BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love my GT, it has more then enough power , runs the studder bumps like there not even there , you really cant beat turn key start and reverse , i dont miss messing with oil , you got to love the sound !! and the maintance of a 4 banger ( add gas then go have fun), i love the E.F.I , who cares if its warm one day then - 30 the next ...and i could go on and on ......but if your one of these no fear hundred mile and hour through the total whooped out 5-6 foot mogals for mile after mile and like to launch your sled over small cars kind of guy , then i would have to say no , its not a good choice for you , not that it wont do it and hold together cause it think it will , but to me these sleds are hot rod trail sleds , not a sno-x sled with a bigger gas tank and a oil tank ...its a trail sled .....

I agree with you about it being a hot rod trail sled, but one of the things that I love most about the RTX is that it is fun/easy/fun to jump this machine. The floats soak up the landing so well, truely a cushiony soft landing everytime-very predictable. I never thought that I would feel as comfortable jumping as I do on this machine-I am 220lbs/6'3". The only time I have trouble is when I'm not lined up real good on take-off and end up sideways in the air-still some practicing to do-that's the best part.
By the way-best friend that I have been riding with for the past 12yrs has a Rev and will be switching to Yamaha after '07's come out, this is something that I would have bet never would have happened, now he loves mine!

The GT is great, only advice I have for that model, is if you are over 180 and or plan to jump, get the optional heavy duty spring.
