Are the 07 Apex known for having week handwarmers? Will it need Yamaheaters?

Or just re-wire them. That's what I did and now I can't go over 1/2 or my hands will burn. I usually leave it on 1 bar now, or 2 when it's very cold out.
Yamaha came out with an update that replaced the handle bars and provided a plug n play adapter. I essentially rewired my '06 to give it that "new wiring" and left the original bars on it. It changed it from a series to a parallel (or the other way around, can't remember at the moment). If you're handy at wiring, and can read a wiring diagram, it's fairly simple. I soldered and shrink-wrapped all my splices and joints as well to keep them weather tight.

That fix worked on the '06 models only. In 07 Yamaha installed new full length grips and wired them in parallel. Yamaheaters is the best fix

Thanks fellas. My bro just bought a new to him 07...and it looks as though the Yamaheaters are his only solid choice. I put em on my Nytro yrs ago after one cold ride.....!!!! Maybe they will be an Xmas gift to him...

I haven't added them to my 07 yet. I figure I'll ride a bit and see. Here's why...just messing around with it in the driveway as I worked on it, mostly at idle, the grips were warm so seemed like they were working at idle. I know all you guys can't be wrong, but I wanted to experience how bad before I spend even more money.

LOL Its only money. :p

Everybody is different. I know a guy that would ride his ex Pro Cross racer all day. Pure race sled. It had no heated grips, taillight or real headlight. We went out for a small 150 trip. Seem to take forever 'cause his sled had a tea cup for a gas tank.
I drove with my leather gauntlet gloves and my Yamaheaters were at 3/4 or more all that day and he had nothing but pro cross gloves on. By the 4th hour of our trip he mentioned that is hands were starting to get cool. Unbelievable!!
