My 13 hand warmers work great. Haven’t needed them with below zero temps. I needed the Yamaha heaters on my 06. Nice feature with the 13 grips is they heat up at idle. Some sleds the grips don’t work if the rpms are low. So if you stop for a minute the grips are still making heat.

I had an 11 and now a 15, although the grip heaters work much better than prior year Apex's, there are times the Yamaheaters shine. Seldom do I go past halfway on the grip warmer gauge, and almost never use the boost. The Yamaheater thumb warmer boost module is a great addition as well. I run with fairly lightweight gloves without issue in extreme weather conditions.

Thanks guys,
good to know they are 'improved'.
I think I will give a try with out but if any need will add Yamaheaters. ( I have both claw mittens and Skidoo gauntlets on the sled if needed- as you can tell I keep to much stuff LOL)

I replaced the heat elements on mine and they get way hot. I had one go down so I had to replace it and I went with after market I only changed the one at first and one ride out one hand was burning and the other was cold so I replaced the other on as well and I was way happy with my set up from then on. I am fairly sure it was hot grips brand they have 3 wires you just have to twist the two positive wires together and wire in to factory wires.

mine are smoking hot on my 13. I usually have to turn them down because they burn through my FXR gloves. SO don't know
