I'm glad I'm retired now.. Never ride on weekends. During the middle of the week only now.. Still have guys for the need for speed, but not many. MM.

I spent one day there this year, had a few sleds come at me on the wrong side of the trail and I WAS NOT leading! Bunch of riders not signaling they had sleds behind them. I understand not signalling if you meet in a bad corner but if you have the time to put a hand up waving "hey stupid there are more coming" then do so.
There ya GO! Too many people rely on this system and then get into trouble. I disagree with the hand signal system ! I want that guy coming at me to have 2 hands on the bars and my main gripe is many times a group of 2 or 3 or more is caught up by faster groups and now signaling 3 when there are 7 and you get pissed off cause they did not tell you someone may be catching up to them??????? And then there is the night thing! I can see the head lights don't try signalling me I cannot see a hand concealed by your high beam! Ride within your ability and expect a sled in the center of every corner and worry about what your doing rather then letting the other guy Know false information

Two hands on the bar in a corner sure...but is it really that hard to slow down and signal on the straight?
When I ride I'm not doing timed laps.

I'll agree that having 2 hands on the bars would be the best idea. But if you can't pass someone on the trail with one hand on the bars, maybe you don't have control of your sled?? If you get mad that someone gave you "false information" about sleds behind them, then that would make you a hypocrite because you should of expected a sled to be there, judging by what you wrote.
When I signal, I signal for my group, my friends and family. Since I'm usually out front of multiple sleds, I signal with my fist and my thumb pointing rearward, its what I do up here in the great white north. Of course there could be sleds behind my group, 2 seconds back or 2 minutes back. Does it matter? No. They're not part of my group and on coming traffic should anticipate them being there.
