Just added my rx-1 to the long list of destructed motors from a loose rod bolt. Stock motor with under 1800 miles. I,m looking at a wrecked apex. Has anyone been happy with this swap or should I try to find an rx-1 motor?

just buy another sled and keep that one for parts. I have been through all of this and it is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. To put the apex motor in you need to swap everything over all wiring, control unit, fuel injection and then install the electric apex pump in the tank or install an aftermarket fuel pump with the foot valve (fuel rail pressure regulator) at the tank return. You need the bars because the hand warmers are completely different and you will need the speedometer because the rx will not work on the apex harness. You also need the apex weights at least for your clutches because of the HP diff.

When I did mine I figure without the motor work to stroke it cost me over $6,000. That was buying a crashed salvage apex.

If you try to buy a motor they are from $2k to $3k and to pull a motor and put another in is not an afternoon job. After 6 times I could do it in a weekend but I will never do another.
