Rx1 Engine into apex Info.

I have a 06 apex GT and Last Year I Sucked up some water and bent a rod. The motor self destructed by the time I got Home. I found a 05 RX 1 motor to Install , Do you guys know if the motors are the same? Would it be as simple as swaping over the throttle bodies etc.. Thank alot for any input

I have some knoledge but never did or know anyone that has done this but I would say YES it would fit, basicaly RX1 and APEX have the same platform BULKHEAD & TUNNEL...just measure/compare both motor mounts locations I don't know about fuel supply if you could use the electric fuel pump with the CABURATED RX1 motor theirs a lot of things to consider but dooable! GOOD LUCK and keep us posted with progress...

I don't think its that simple to put the FI onto the 05 motor. Leave the carbs on it. You will need to remove the electric fuel pump since its pressure is too high for the carbs - use the vacuum pump.

Thanks for the info guys. Idid alittle research and it looks like the head is a little differnt, the 05 has oval ports and the 06 has round port. I,m going to the dealer today to ask them about it. but it looks like I may have to keep looking for a 06-08 motor.

Well as I said, just keep the carbs with it and you'll be fine.
